Quality Commitment

HealthSouth Nittany Valley Rehabilitation Hospital provides the medical, nursing, therapy and ancillary services required to comply with local, state and federal regulations. The hospital is accredited by The Joint Commission, the nation’s foremost standards-setting and accrediting body in health care.

HealthSouth Nittany Valley has attained triple certification by the Joint Commission for Disease-Specific Care in three key programs: Brain Injury, Stroke, and Heart Failure. This Gold Seal of Approval further confirms our commitment to provide our five-county service area with the latest rehabilitation technology, treatments, rehab nurses and therapy team, helping patients reach maximum outcomes.

Patient Satisfaction
HealthSouth has enlisted Press Ganey, a leader in healthcare improvement for more than 20 years, to measure our patients' experience. Press Ganey works with more than 40% of U.S. hospitals, and according to publicly reported results, its clients score higher than non-clients on both the "Overall" rating and "Likelihood to Recommend."

Outcomes Measurement
HealthSouth utilizes the Uniform Data System for Medical Rehabilitation (UDSmr), the rehabilitation industry’s most widely recognized outcomes measurement tool, to monitor overall patient outcomes. This system measures the effectiveness of our hospitals’ rehabilitation programs by evaluating and tracking a patient’s functional status upon admission, discharge and post-discharge to document the level of disability and to assess the effectiveness of rehabilitation. UDS also allows HealthSouth to benchmark its rehabilitation hospitals against regional and national performance data.
