Members of the Bellefonte Senior Resource Center enjoyed an educational lunch and tour of Nittany Valley on March 23.
HealthSouth Nittany Valley Celebrates National Patient Safety Awareness week under the theme of “Lights, Camera, Safety!” Occupational Therapists embraced the theme by dressing in the garb of their favorite movie character.
A local group of cub scouts visited Nittany Valley on Feb. 6 as part of their “Aware and Care” elective. The scouts and their family members toured the hospital, learned about rehabilitation, and created inspirational artwork to help encourage patients.
HealthSouth Nittany Valley is observing National Winter Sports Traumatic Brain Injury Awareness Month, an observance highlighting the dangers of traumatic brain injury (TBI) and the importance for taking precautionary measures when engaging in winter sports such as skating and skiing.
On Tuesday, Dec. 12 from 5:30 – 7 p.m., the community is invited to hear from HealthSouth Nittany Valley’s Director of Therapy Operations Tracy Stoltz, OTR/L, on the topic of “Safe Driving and Seniors.”

“Stroke and You: Taking Control of Your Risk Factors” on Monday, Oct. 9 at Hoss’s Steak & Sea House located at 23 Hoss Drive in Lewistown, from 5 – 6:30 p.m. This event is provided at no-cost to the community and open to the public.
HealthSouth Nittany Valley will present information on communication and swallowing treatments for persons affected by Parkinson’s disease on Wednesday, September 13 at 3 p.m., during the Parkinson’s support group meeting at Fulmer’s Personal Care Home.
