Celebrating Our Differences
At HealthSouth Nittany Valley, we believe a diverse staff leads to better outcomes for all of our patients. Diversity amongst staff allows our clinicians to better understand our patient’s expectations, beliefs, and values. This understanding leads to more personalized treatment plans and education for the patient and the patient’s caregivers. Our commitment to diversity goes beyond hiring a diverse staff. HealthSouth Nittany Valley strives to build and maintain relationships with a diverse group of vendors and businesses within our community.
To further solidify this commitment, HealthSouth Nittany Valley has organized a diversity committee. This committee is charged with representing, promoting and supporting the diversity efforts of the hospital. HealthSouth Nittany Valley has an employee activity committee, which is comprised of employees from all areas of the hospital. The activity committee works together throughout the year to raise funds for an annual holiday celebration. There are a variety of fundraisers and many of them involve making food for breakfast or lunch or bringing in favorite dishes for a breakfast, lunch or snack time fundraising activity.
